Ever looked at runway photos and thought "how did they come up with that?" Well, I have no idea, lol- but I have worked for several runway designers and market designers, and I can tell you that most do have a pretty similar process, at least as far as the timeline goes.
Here I break down the entire process from concept to color theory, fabric sourcing, silhouette development, sample making, merchandising and final showcase- with only a couple of rants in between.
It's a 30,000 ft. view, but a good representation of what happens from a designer's point of view.
