Описание: Signet ring cell tumors in the skin are most often metastatic typically from the stomach or colon. Exceptionally primary signet ring cell carcinoma presents on the eyelid and even more rarely in the axilla. Signet ring change may also be a feature in a wide range of other tumors (either in part or affecting the whole tumor) such that immunohistochemistry may be necessary to establish the diagnosis. These include melanoma, squamous cell carcinoma, basal cell carcinoma, lymphoma, angiosarcoma, epithelioid sarcoma and liposarcoma. This video shows a case of metastatic gastric carcinoma presenting in the skin. It was kindly shared with me by Dr. Antonina Kalmykova and CSD Health Care, Kyiv, Ukraine. A useful reference to the subject is found in the article by Dr. Lortsher et al in Dermatology Online (2012); 18, issue 4.
