Le Mans 24 (SEGA) - Unlocking Sonic the Hedgehog

Описание: In 1997, SEGA's AM3 and AM4 divisions collaborated on Le Mans 24, based on the anuual French sports car event of the same name. It's a fun arcade racer that's sadly often forgotten; and hidden within it is a surprising cameo from someone slightly less forgotten.

Throughout the game are signs emblazoned with the face of Sonic the Hedgehog, SEGA's popular mascot. But that's not all; you can actually race as him, too! That said; all the cheat sites with the code to unlock him are actually wrong. So how do you unlock him then?

What the code is depends on which cabinet type is assigned:

TWIN LEMANS CAB -
Highlight the Nismo R33, and hold START, LEFT, BRAKE, and VR BUTTONS 1+3, then hit ACCELERATE. You don't need to hold Brake from the start of the game, as some sites claim.

TWIN NORMAL CAB -
Same as above, but with the ZOOM IN/OUT BUTTONS that were present on this variation of the cab. I haven't tried this mind, so I'd just stick to TWIN LEMANS, which is the default in the test menu anyway.

Sonic drives an odd little buggy, and his model is completely unique; arguably a Dreamcast-style take on his Sonic R appearance.
Also of note; when Sonic checks into a pit stop, he'll turn into... a rabbit thing? It's bizarre, and I've no idea if it's a reference to anything in particular. If anything it reminds me of NECO, ZOOM's mascot (first seen in Genocide on the X68000) but this is SEGA, so... no idea.

Anyway, there's no good quality footage of Sonic's cameo in this game on Youtube; at least, until now! It just took ages to dig up the code.
