Meet my new friend, Chris. In 2003, at the age of 26, he was diagnosed with colon cancer and given a 50/50 shot at survival. In the fight against cancer, decision-making is often based on fear—who wouldn't be afraid?

But Chris took a radically different approach, reminding me of a quote by Maya Angelou: "When you know better, do better."

Over the past thirteen years, Chris has inspired people around the globe to follow in his footsteps and to do all they can to build up their bodies in order to become nutritional powerhouses.

I hope this week's episode provides a sense of empowerment and reminds us that, even though so much is out of control, we CAN control what's on our fork. And every bite can help us prepare for battle against diseases of any kind.
