Creamy mustard Brussels sprouts, cooked gently the old-world way.
Brussels sprouts are seared until golden, then simmered slowly in butter, cream, and Dijon mustard.
Nothing rushed, nothing fancy — just simple ingredients treated with care.

🌿 Ingredients
1 lb (450 g) Brussels sprouts, trimmed & halved
2 tbsp butter
1 tbsp olive oil
2 cloves garlic, gently smashed
¾ cup whipping cream (35%)
1½ tbsp Dijon mustard
Salt, to taste
Freshly cracked black pepper
Optional: pinch of nutmeg or fresh thyme
🍳 Instructions
Prepare the sprouts
Trim the ends and cut Brussels sprouts in half lengthwise.
Pat very dry 👉🏼 this helps them turn golden.
Sear until golden
Heat butter and olive oil in a wide pan over medium heat.
Place Brussels sprouts cut-side down in a single layer.
Cook undisturbed for 5–7 minutes, until deeply golden.
Add garlic
Add smashed garlic cloves.
Stir gently and cook 30 seconds, just until fragrant.
Make the sauce
Lower heat slightly.
Stir in whipping cream and Dijon mustard.
Season with salt, black pepper, and a pinch of nutmeg (if using).
Simmer gently
Let simmer 5–8 minutes, until the sauce thickens and coats the sprouts.
Finish & serve
Taste and adjust seasoning.
Serve warm.
