Ever since I've been going out on the water in the Solent, I've been intrigued by the site of Norris Castle in East Cowes. Looks great from the sea perched up on its fantastic location, but you can't see it from anywhere on land. Even with a UAV it's a challenge as there is no take off/landing area (on public land) that gives a nice clear view toward the castle area. In the end I figured that taking off from East Cowes seafront would have to do. Not brilliant as you need to keep a fair height to maintain signal, but reasonably pleased with the end result.
I would love the opportunity to actually take some close up shots before they start building work to transform it into luxury apartments/hotel.
