Laura Nuttall, from Barrowford in Lancashire, was given a year to live after being diagnosed with glioblastoma multiforme - an aggressive brain cancer - in 2018. Instead, she devoted her life to campaigning and a heck of a lot more besides, before passing away in 2023 at this time. She was only 23 years old, but achieved so much.
She was the cancer patient who coaxed Peter Kay out of retirement and met Michelle Obama and did so much more, inspiring many people in the process.
