IFPTI's executive director, Jerry Wojtala, is interviewed by Lansing's WILX regarding a recent visit from Chinese food protection officials.
The Chinese officials participated in an in-depth training program titled: Leadership Seminar: "Dairy Safety and Lab Quality," from July 22 to July 24 at the WMU Kendall Center in Battle Creek, then traveled to Lansing, and concluded their U.S. visit in Chicago.
Topics discussed included dairy farm practices and farm milk safety; milk and infant formula supply regulations in the United States; laboratory testing and accreditation in the United States; the Food Safety Modernization Act overview; pasture-based farming, milk production efficiency, robotic milking and farm tour; laboratory best practices; tour of Covance Laboratory, a nutritional chemistry and food safety laboratory in Battle Creek; and development of new AOAC/Codex Standards for testing infant formula.
