Hi, I'm Zach Radge. I work for The Chartist. I'm 26 years old and I live in Brisbane. Originally I studied software engineering at University. And then I worked in mining on mechanical reliability for three to four years before moving to The Chartist where I started to work on automated coding systems, turnkey Systems. So I guess one of the best things about trading or working for The Chartist is the time flexibility and the freedom that it enables. The freedom to do hobbies on the side freedom to live.
So one of the things The Chartist focuses on is computer guided systems. And one of the reasons that's important is there's no discretionary input to it. So you build the system, you test it, you have confidence in that system and then you let the system make all the decisions for you.
So each day or each week usually I start by placing my trades before the market opens and then I'll go through my emails send out any turnkey code, answer any queries we've got in and then usually I will work on developing new code new turnkey systems that sort of thing.
What I like about developing systems is working on them incrementally and working towards the goal improving them and building something that works in the real world, back testing it make sure it all works. In terms of working with clients one of the things I really enjoy is helping people work towards their goals and let them get to that outcome that they desire. We do that through creating functional systems that work for the client, answering any questions along the way with any troubles they have. Probably one of the most common mistakes we see is people diving in and expecting 100 percent returns in the first day. They expect to only go up, never ever go down, just continue onwards upwards upwards but in reality that's not how it works. There's a process there's a cycle and part of that cycle is drawdowns and working through that but ultimately working upwards. It's important that you stick to the system because if you let your emotions take over that leads to a loss of opportunity, a loss of momentum and potential damage to your long-term portfolio.
Zach showed an interest in coming into the family business, none of the other kids have and we were more than happy to do that. We want this business to keep going beyond Nick and I and having a succession plan is incredibly important for our clients as well as for us. I'm excited to be a part of The Chartist as I think I can offer a fresh take on the way we do things on our systems and ultimately to give our clients a better experience. Building Wealth is a not the end but the means to an end. You know the end is a comfortable life where you can do what you want to do. I guess the ideal person who wants to take The Chartist journey is someone who is looking for that security already, has a base of wealth and is looking to grow that stably.
With the skill set with trading it gives you the security to be able to control your future, to control your outcomes, to decide where you want to go and to manage that all yourself.
