Neurodivergence, including autism, ADHD, and dyslexia, is largely understood through deficit-based clinical frameworks. Limited awareness, stigma, and siloed approaches across families, schools, and healthcare systems result in fragmented and inconsistent support, affecting the mental health and well-being of neurodivergent individuals.
This webinar, hosted by PMHC in collaboration with the Institute of Neurodiversity (ION), fostered cross-sector dialogue by bringing together professional and lived perspectives across key life spaces.
Dr Kamila Saeed, in the keynote session, explained the nuances often missed when dealing with neurodiverse children. Hafsa Hasan and Rizwan-us-Salam Khan shared their parents’ lived experiences in the context of home and early development; Urooj Hassan and Ashba Kamran discussed education and inclusion in schools; and Muneera Rasheed addressed healthcare perspectives, with a focus on mental health and development. The session aimed to promote awareness, reduce stigma, and encourage collaborative, inclusive support for neurodivergent individuals across home, school, and healthcare settings.
