Marco, also known as Marco the Phoenix, is a character in the anime and manga series One Piece. In the past he was a member of the Whitebeard Pirates, serving as the primary healer of the crew and the Commander of the First Division. It's unknown when he joined the crew, but it was more than 30 years ago, as he was shown on the crew during Oden's flashbacks when he was 15 years old, and he's in his 40's today. After the deaths of Whitebeard and Portgas D. Ace, their Captain and first division commander respectively, Marco becomes the defacto Captain of the crew, and leads the remaining members in a war against Blackbeard to get revenge for his betrayal. After they lost what will become known as the Payback War, Marco made the decision to officially disband the Whitebeard Pirates. He proceeded to build a grave for Ace and Whitebeard at Sphynx Island, where Whitebeard was born, with the aid of Shanks, and remained their as its protector in memory of his fallen father, until the current arc, Wano Country, when he showed up in Wano, along with Izou, in order to avenge Oden's death. After the defeat of Kaido and Big Mom, Marco returned back into Sphynx island and refused to join Shanks' crew when he retiring piracy. Before leaving, he say his farewell for Luffy and appreciate his thanks for saving his life two years ago. Marco returned Sphynx Island and learned the Marines attacked the Island until it was saved by Edward Weevil (the former Warlord and the self-proclaimed son of Whitebeard who was later arrested by Admiral Ryokugyu). He met Mrs. Buckingham Stussy who begging Marco to rescue Weevil from the Marines. Despite not being the Captain, Marco was almost as well known. He was feared not for his combat capabilities, but for his healing capabilities. He was the primary doctor of the crew, and possessed the Bird Bird Fruit Mode; Phoenix, a mythical Zoan which allowed him to transform into a massive phoenix, which has the ability to heal others, and himself, and gave himself flight augmentation, but with no powers of attack. Silvers Rayleigh, also known as the Dark King, is a major character in the manga and anime series, One Piece. He is the former right-hand man of the legendary Pirate King, Gold Roger and later Monkey D. Luffy's Haki master and teacher, he is also Shakuyaku's husband. After Roger's execution, Rayleigh retired and settled on Sabaody Archipelago. Despite his retirement as a pirate, his bounty wasn't simply forgotten or removed due to pirates carried crimes years ago, especially the Roger Pirates. He met Boa Hancock and her sisters, Sandersonia and Marigold, and helped them to find their way back to Amazon Lily by calling Gloriosa. He pretended to become a slave to steal money to made customers of the Human Auction House cancel orders and demanded refunds. As Luffy and his crew try to escape, Rayleigh holds off Kizaru until Bartholomew Kuma arrived and send the Straw Hats flying toward other islands after he revealed to Rayleigh that he works for the Revolutionary Army as a spy. After Whitebeard's death, Rayleigh came to Amazon Lily for Luffy and met the former Shichibukai Jinbei as well reunite with Hancock, her sisters, and Gloriosa. He trains Luffy to learn Haki in Rusukaina, the northwest of Amazon Lily. After Hancock lost her status as a Warlord due to both Doflamingo and Crocodile, Rayleigh and Shakky save Hancock from Blackbeard and the Marines as well as they will guard Amazon Lily and the Kujas in Hancock's absence, when she has decided to leave her home for her reunion with Luffy.
