Most people try to study for the USMLE, SEE,NCE or Medical school exams using a "full-time student" schedule. But when you’re working 12-hour shifts in the ICU or as a CRNA, that approach is a recipe for burnout.
In this video, I’m breaking down the Anchor and Micro Block System I used to transition from CRNA to Anesthesiology Resident without sacrificing my sleep or my sanity.
🕒 Chapters:
0:00 — Why your current study plan is failing you
1:30 — The Anchor Block (60-120 mins of Deep Work)
4:00 — Micro Blocks: How to study in 15-minute windows
7:00 — Why Sleep is your most important study tool
10:30 — Output vs. Vibes: The "No-Cute" Study Rule
📝 People Also Ask (FAQ):
Q: How do you find time to study as a CRNA?
A: It’s not about finding more hours; it’s about utilizing "Micro Blocks" during downtime and protecting one "Anchor Block" 3-5 times a week.
Q: Is it possible to work full-time while in med school?
A: It’s extremely difficult, but using a consistency-based system rather than a perfection based system is the only way to survive the "Status Drop" and workload.
Q: What is the best study method for medical residency?
A: Prioritize Output over Vibes. Focus on practice questions and active review rather than passive reading or highlighting.Ultimately learning should come natural not forced, so experiment with styles until you find your output.
