This encounter felt scaled up a bit, was less fun for me and I am starting to tire of the drawn out overdone mechanics. There are instructions as to what to do when a new phase starts; but when trying to stay out of constant multiple damage mechanics and all the active damage going out, with all the clutter on the screen, I didn't see some of the instructions and it wasn't until I notice I wasn't progressing or doing any damage that I then had to try to read the instructions of what I need to be doing all while still trying to avoid damage. Just leads to not enjoying this part of the story much. I have done it twice now and don't think I would take another character through the story and do it again, this story encounter just is tiring and didn't really feel interesting or amusing, felt more like abuse and worn out and not very creative fight mechanics. The needing to be on my mount and getting stunned off the mount and having a cool down timer to get back on while constantly being bombarded just feels like over done trying to trip me up all the way while on the assigned task. I like SWtoR story mode content way better, ESO solo play dungeon content is better as well.
Also, I have noticed the Janthir content areas don't seem to really have much player activity, kind of looks mostly empty and abandoned like not many people are doing this content in comparison to other areas. Not seeing any Meta activity either. Basically from my experience the whole area's activity just seems unrewarding and empty. HoT, EoD and even SotO felt more populated and busy for sure from my experience. The best part of Janthir is the Spear, the Mount and maybe the Homestead; but I am not sure about the homestead as I am never there, may not complete the homestead masteries as I likely will never have the mastery points I need to do so anyway.
As for the Tempest Staff/Scepter/Warhorn in Celestial gear, this encounter didn't consistently show high damage numbers like I saw in the Arena fights. The conditions never seemed to stack much where in the Arena fights getting stacks making 4K plus ticks made me feel I would see that here and I didn't consistently. They did go up though and I did see Bleeding hit 4K tick once and Burning hit 7K once, mostly what I saw was 1 - 2Kish. Likely though conditions damage did better than I would have done trying strike damage, don't think I would be able to actually hit the boss with the frequency to do better than getting conditions going while then having to back off and avoid mechanics. So I think condition damage is the way to go, especially if I can get two or more conditions with 10+ stacks and keep them building and cooking.
