I stopped by Precision Alignment and Brakes in Temecula to see if their Snap-On OBDII tool could put my Audi SQ5 into service mode for an upcoming brake job… and got hit with another reminder of how out of touch dealership pricing has become.

🚗 Audi’s Quote? $5,000 to replace brakes and rotors. Yeah… let that sink in.
🔧 Independent Shop Estimate? Just under $1,500 TOTAL—including high-quality parts I sourced for under $1,000 and $250 per axle labor + $125 for alignment from Precision.

This is why I believe in supporting honest, local businesses—not service departments with 400% markups and a latte machine in the lobby to distract you from the invoice.

📉 OBDII Scan Fail: Unfortunately, their Snap-On unit didn’t support my 2022 model—only up to 2021—so we’ll be heading back later this week once their rep updates the scanner. Big shoutout to the Precision team for being transparent and trying their best.
