Supreme Court grants bail to BRS leader K Kavitha in excise policy case

The Supreme Court granted bail to BRS leader K Kavitha in the Excise Policy case on August 27. The top court also imposed various conditions against Kavitha including not to tamper with evidence or influence witnesses in the matter. Notably, BRS leader K Kavitha was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate on March 15, 2024. Subsequently, she was also later arrested by CBI in the matter on April 11, 2024.
“We all are very happy. The court has accepted almost all our contention and has granted the bail today. More than that, we are happy that today the court has given a landmark judgment on the right of a woman as far as her right is concerned, to attain bail, even in ED matters. We are waiting for, the operative part of the judgment. Once it is out, we will get to know exactly what condition has been put...,” said Anuj Tiwari. “We heard of the news that our leader has been granted bail. It was an unnecessary case, she was framed in the wrong case...We had trust in the law. We are trying to bring her out by evening...,” said Ravi Chandra.
