മുന്നാക്ക ജാതിക്കാർക്ക് എതിരെ ജാതിയുടെ പേരിൽ അധിക്ഷേപമോ വിവേചനമോ ഉണ്ടായാൽ പരാതിപ്പെടാൻ മാർഗമില്ലെന്ന പുതിയ യുജിസി പരിഷ്കാരം അപകടകരമാണ്. ജാതിവിവേചനം എന്നത് ഏകപക്ഷീയമല്ല. പ്രത്യേകിച്ച് എന്തിനുമേതിനും അകാരണമായി ബ്രാഹ്മണർ ഉൾപ്പെടുന്ന മുന്നാക്ക ജാതിക്കാരെ അവഹേളിക്കുന്നത് ഫാഷൻ ആയ ഒരു കാലത്ത്. അതുപോലെ റാഗിംഗ് എന്ന വിവേചനത്തെ ചട്ടങ്ങളിൽ നിന്ന് ഒഴിവാക്കുക, ജാതി അടിസ്ഥാനത്തിൽ ഹോസ്റ്റലുകൾ തുടങ്ങാനുള്ള സാധ്യത തുറക്കുക എന്നിവയെല്ലാം മോശം നിർദേശങ്ങളാണ്. ഈ നിയമങ്ങളെ മരവിപ്പിച്ച സുപ്രീംകോടതിക്ക് അഭിവാദ്യങ്ങൾ.
The new UGC reform that leaves no mechanism to file a complaint if forward caste communities face caste based insult or discrimination is dangerous. Caste discrimination is not one sided, especially at a time when casually insulting Brahmins and other forward caste groups has become fashionable for many. Removing ragging as a form of discrimination from the rules and opening the possibility of caste based hostels are also poor recommendations. Salute to the Supreme Court for keeping these rules in abeyance.
