What 20,000 LBS of RANDOM US Military Surplus Looks Like!

Another truckload of military surplus has arrived!!

Just one day after unloading a 20,000 pound shipment of military gear, we are back at the warehouse doing it all over again. This second shipment comes from an undisclosed military base somewhere in the United States and brings another massive load of surplus equipment, clothing, and field gear into the warehouse.

After unloading the truck and laying out the pallets, we start going through the top layers to see what this shipment actually contains. Right away we begin finding OCP Level 5 soft shell gear, cold weather gloves, military fleeces, individual combat shelters, MOLLE II rucksacks, sleeping bags, waterproof pack liners, and a wide variety of field equipment used by the U.S. military. Many of the pallets are packed with bags containing sorted items, making it easier to see what types of equipment are included in this shipment.

As we work our way across the pallets we find everything from woodland grenade pouches and hydration carriers to duffel bags, laundry bags, Therm-a-Rest sleeping mats, sleeping system components, and OCP assault packs. Some pallets contain large quantities of military bags and rucksacks, while others are a mix of different surplus equipment ranging from clothing layers to field accessories.

Along the way we also run into a few mystery items that we are not immediately able to identify, including a test shroud component and a large protective cover that appears to be related to artillery equipment. There are also unusual finds like Mickey boots, berets, experimental or uncommon soft shell jackets, and even fire rescue gear with a drag rescue device designed to evacuate downed firefighters.

By the end of the unload the warehouse has grown to more than 50 pallets of new military surplus inventory waiting to be processed. With so many pallets stacked and ready to go through, there is a huge amount of gear still waiting to be sorted, photographed, and prepared for the website.
