MrBeast Warns After Sora launch: AI Could Destroy Millions of YouTube Careers!

Описание: YouTube megastar Jimmy Donaldson, better known as MrBeast, has expressed concern about the future of content creation, warning that AI-generated videos could soon disrupt the entire creator economy.

“When AI videos are just as good as normal videos, I wonder what that will do to YouTube and how it will impact the millions of creators currently making content for a living… scary times,” Donaldson said on X (formerly Twitter) on Sunday.

His remarks follow the launch of OpenAI’s Sora, a social media platform capable of generating short-form AI videos, including those featuring digitally recreated individuals. Meanwhile, Meta recently rolled out a similar AI video platform called Vibes.

Several other major creators have also voiced concern. YouTuber Casey Neistat, who has over 12.6 million subscribers, described Sora as a “TikTok clone where every video is AI” in a recent upload.

Despite his warnings, Donaldson has previously experimented with AI technology himself. In July, he introduced a tool for creating AI-generated YouTube thumbnails but took it down within a week after backlash from creators. He later said he would replace it with links to human artists offering commissions.

“I care more than any of you could ever imagine about the YouTube community,” he said in a video. “It deeply makes me sad when I do something that people in the community are upset by.”

Outside of content creation, MrBeast continues to expand his philanthropic work. Earlier this year, Beast Philanthropy announced a partnership with Light AI, a tech company that developed a smartphone tool to detect Group A Streptococcus infections. Through this partnership, 10,000 diagnostic tests will be sent to patients in Africa.
