Train Cab Ride NL / Dijksgracht Reopened! / Amsterdam - Hilversum - Deventer / ICM / May 2025

Описание: Hi everyone! Welcome on board a brand new ride! This week the 'Spoorwensdagen' took place where many wishes came true. I met Thijs this week and at the end of the meet and greet he picked this video for uploading this week because he wanted to see the upgraded version of the Dijksgracht in Amsterdam. Enjoy the ride on the intercity service from Amsterdam to Deventer!

0:00 Amsterdam Centraal (New Bridge)
We start the ride in Amsterdam at platform 14b. Not long ago the first of five bridges was reopened for use. Today you get to run over it with this train. As you can see on departure the platforms will also be extended over the new bridges. On the right side on departure you can see the construction of the second bridge has begun! A huge crane has been build over the tracks so all materials needed can be taken away and brought to the workplace. Huge project! It will take at least until 2031 before all bridges are replaced.

3:06 Dijksgracht Update!
A lot has been changed at the Dijksgracht the last time we drove past here in the last recording. As you can see we will now drive over the new infrastructure that has been build. Only two out of a total of four (future) tracks are open for use now. On the left side the dive-under will be extended even more so another track can run over it (now temporary closed for use). In the future trains from/to Utrecht will run through the dive-under from/to the higher platform numbers at Amsterdam Centraal. Nowadays those trains depart from the middle part of the station causing a lot of trains crossing each others paths in the junctions (and a lot of waiting time). That's why the Dijksgracht is getting this huge update.

There's a temporary speed limit in place at Amsterdam Science Park (next station). Therefor we get the task to slow down at this location. Right after that we encounter two yellow signals because there's a slightly delayed sprinter running ahead of us.

The temporary maximum speed at this location is now set to 40km/h. Because the light signal does not allow a higher speed at this moment I won't be showing that temporary speed in the video.

45:02 Stork Nests
As you know we have many stork nests in the catenaries. They can build nests like nobody else does. ProRail monitors the state of the nests. But in 99% of the time they are build strong!

Slower freight trains can be set aside here for waiting on passenger trains.

On the right side a platform for the steamer that runs here every now and then towards Dieren.

We approach our final destination Deventer! Enjoy the view on the bridge. Joining in on the left at Deventer is the line (NS) coming from Zwolle.
