The Minority Leader in Parliament, Alexander Afenyo-Markin, has accused the government of prioritizing rhetoric over real results, pointing to the deepening crisis in Ghana’s cocoa sector.
According to the Effutu MP, thousands of cocoa farmers have gone unpaid for months — a situation he describes as a major failure on the part of the government.
Speaking at the national thanksgiving service of the New Patriotic Party following its successful presidential primary, Afenyo-Markin also urged party members to remain united. He alleged attempts by the government to create divisions within the party through political persecution.
