Описание: This video will show how to enable the dedicated Service Mode for the rear brake replacement/service in the 2024 and 2025 Lexus GX550 and Toyota Land Cruiser.
The Service Mode will allow you to fully release the electric parking brake motor without additional tools or software and replace rear brake pads and rotors.

ENABLING THE REAR BRAKE SERVICE MODE:
1. Open the driver's door.
2. Turn the ignition on. Press the engine start/stop button once.
3. Press the brake pedal.
4. Pull the electronic parking brake button 3 times.
5. Push the electronic parking brake button 3 times.
6. Release the brake pedal. The Park indicator on the dash should be flashing.
7. Push and hold the electronic parking brake button. You will hear the motors located on the rear calipers of the GX550 unwinding all the way.
8. Turn off the vehicle. Press the engine start/stop button once.

Now the parking brake is fully released, and you can service your rear brakes. You will be able to push in the caliper piston all the way without the electric parking brake (EPB) holding it, or do any other service on the rear brakes.

DISABLING THE SERVICE MODE (Before disabling the service mode, make sure that the rear calipers are fully reinstalled; otherwise, your piston may fall out!):
1. Turn the ignition on. Press the engine start/stop button once.
2. Pull and hold the electronic parking brake button. This will return the electric motor to the proper position. Wait until you stop hearing the parking brake motor noise in the back.
3. Pull the electronic parking brake button once to engage the parking brake.

The difference between using the Service Mode and simply pressing the parking brake button once to disengage the parking brake is that in the Service Mode, the electric parking brake motor gets released completely.
