A RESILIENT MAN charts the physical and mental journey back from the brink of STEVEN MCRAE, a famous principal dancer at the Royal Ballet of London. In the middle of a show, he is catastrophically injured, breaking his Achilles tendon. He is at the height of his career, a career that was dramatically out on hold… Will Steven ever be able to dance again? Will he ever return to the stage and stay on it for the entire season? How does a dancer of his calibre bounce back from such a tragic event? For one year, director Stéphane Carrel filmed the return of this spectacular dancer to his company, his training to recover alongside his engagement for mental health within the dance world. At 35 years old, he either recovers or his career is over. That's how it is in the world of ballet. Steven McRae knows it. But dancing is in his blood. Against all odds, he's going to achieve the impossible: Going back on stage.
