ক্ষমতায় গেলে যশোর শহরকে সিটি করপোরেশনে উন্নীত করা হবে বলে জানিয়েছেন, জামায়াতের আমির ডা. শফিকুর রহমান। বন্ধ করা হবে চাঁদাবাজি ও দুর্নীতি। ভেঙে দেয়া হবে সিন্ডিকেট। চাঁদাবাজদের জন্য কর্মসংস্থানের ব্যবস্থা করা হবে, যাতে আর চাঁদাবাজিতে না জড়ায়। সকালে যাশোর ঈদগাহ মাঠে নির্বাচনী জনসভায় এসব কথা বলেন। পরে সাতক্ষীরা জনসভায় ডা. শফিকুর রহমান বলেন, দীর্ঘদিন উন্নয়ন থেকে বঞ্চিত থাকা সাতক্ষীরার উন্নয়নে কাজ করবে জামায়াত।
