Описание: The child who is not embraced by the village, will burn it down it to feel its warmth is an African proverb that reminds us of the importance of giving love, validation and grace to our children. Unfortunately Black children across this nation in particular, have been used to being dealt with in a punitive way. In the Black community we've adopted the ideology that our children have to be talked to harshly, degraded, condemned and beaten in order for them to be respectful and turn out to be great adults. Well I'm addressing this issue in this latest episode of Real Reading Talk. I talk about where that mentality comes from, how it's truly a disservice to our children and how we need to rid ourselves of this thinking because it's counterproductive and outright toxic to our children. We are paying for it dearly! This is certainly an episode that you do not want to miss.
