Webinar 04: Administrative Capacity to Handle Disaster

Описание: We are passing through a hard time. It is difficult for all of us. Most of the countries in the world are failing to meet the challenges raised by catastrophic disasters. Given this COVID19 spread throughout the country, now we have a new disaster that needs immediate attention, 'Cyclone Amphan.' In our discussion, we want to talk about the Bangladesh Government's current administrative capacity to handle the disaster like COVID19 and Amphan. Join us and share your opinion.
During the discussion there were people from the government, different universities, and our students from the department. In addition, our colleagues from the department also attended the webinar. In the discussion we have talked about the government's capacity, policies, and incapacity. We had a big discussion on policies on the disaster from the government. In addition, we discussed why the government didn't declare the COVID19 as a disaster. Finally a big part of the discussion we talked about the mal coordination among the government ministries and department. Not only that there was mal coordination between the bureaucrats and the political executives (ministers). Last but not least we talked about the after disaster responses after the disaster and the pandemic COVID19. I hope you will enjoy our discussion.
