The period between WWI and WWIIbrought about major political changes inItaly, and yet it's fairly uncommon to discusswhat actually went on in Benito Mussolini's fascist state during those years. Mussolini implemented policies and reforms that led to a waveof censorship, nationalist propaganda, and widespread militarism, making daily life under Mussolini a tenuous existence.
In WWII Italy, life in the Italian Socialist Republicwas about fear and to stay on good terms with Germany. Mussolini treated his enemies harshly, comparable to The Fuhrer's ruthless exterminationof Jewish peoplein concentration camps. It was only with the passingofIl Ducein 1945 that Italian fascism truly came to an end.
