Cleveland police arrest man in deadly I-71 shooting that killed 2 near I-90 split

Описание: Cleveland police have arrested a 30-year-old man in connection with a deadly highway shooting that killed two people near I-71 North at the I-90 split.

The Cleveland Division of Police said Nishawn Wood was arrested Monday, Jan. 5, after investigators used technology and other resources, including the department’s Real Time Crime Center, to identify and locate him.

Police said the arrest was the result of a coordinated effort.

"This arrest is a direct result of the tireless work and professionalism of our patrol officers and homicide unit detectives, whose dedication and investigative expertise were instrumental in bringing this case to a close,” said Cleveland Division of Police Chief Dorothy Todd. “While resources such as our Real Time Crime Center supported the investigation, it was the commitment, teamwork, and persistence of our officers that delivered justice. This arrest sends a clear message that violent crime will be thoroughly investigated, and those responsible will be pursued and held accountable.”
