How to install KH1FM Critical Mix Plus (Steam downgrade patch)

Q: Do I need to own the EGS version as well to use this?
A: No, only the Steam version of KINGDOM HEARTS 1.5+2.5 ReMIX is necessary. When I refer to the "1.0.0.8 EGS folder", that's just the version of the game we're downgrading the files to.

Q: Does this downgrade patch work with the current Epic Games Store version of KH1.5+2.5?
A: No, unfortunately this only works with the Steam version, because that's the one I own and made the patch for. If I can get the current EGS version of the game at some point, I could make a patch for it in the future though.

Q: Why don't you just make the mod work with the Steam version?
A: I am not Xendra, and had no role in making Critical Mix.

Simple fixes to try:
A lot of people who have trouble opening the game after downgrading have had this issue fixed by replacing the LuaBackend hook files in their folder with these one:

Some have also had issues using the KHPCPatchManager program during the process of applying Critical Mix to the downgraded game. The latest version of KHPCPatchManager sometimes automatically recognizes and tries to patch the Steam install of the game, which is not what we want. This can be solved by using version 1.2.0 of KHPCPatchManager (remember that you still need the resources folder from the .zip file that Xendra links in their mod description): https://github.com/AntonioDePau/KHPCP... . Make sure that the command window pops up, asks you for the "en" folder, drag it onto the command window, and then press Enter ONLY ONCE, and wait until it says "Done!" before closing it or doing something else. If it gets interrupted, you must replace the .pkg files with those from the "backup" folder and try using KHPCPatchManager again.
