General Assembly Session Update

Описание: The 2026 Virginia General Assembly Session adjourned sine die on Saturday, March 14, and the City of Richmond showed up for our residents. Here’s a look at a few of our wins:

• Housing & Eviction Prevention — We successfully advocated for expanded support for the Eviction Reduction Program, connecting Richmonders facing eviction with direct financial assistance and legal resources.

• Gun Violence Prevention — New legislation closes critical loopholes, requires safe storage of firearms in vehicles, bans high-capacity magazines and ghost guns, and delivers long-overdue protections for victims of domestic violence.

• Pedestrian Safety — New laws expand speed limit enforcement tools to protect pedestrian crossings and extend reduced speed zones near schools.
