In this video, I demonstrate several approaches to ripping thin strips of wood on the table saw. These will have problems related to three important requirements: 1) safety, 2) accuracy and repeatability, and 3) being able to rip very thin strips 1/16 in, 1/32 or less in thickness. 1/8 in and larger are no problem to do.
Such thin strips are quite useful in the shop, for making bent laminations, edge banding plywood, and for gauges on door fronts, etc.
This series will be in three parts: 1) demonstrating problematic approaches, 2) building a simple half fence jig that I think solves the problem 3) and demonstrating the use of the half fence jig.
