Station founder and creator LAWRENCE JOHN delivers the opening speech launching his new radio station, ENERGY 106.6 FM on July 4, 1998.
Broadcasting from Alien Mountain Co.Monaghan, to Belfast the Universe and beyond, the station was deliberately launched on American Independence as it seemed appropriate for a new INDEPENDENT radio station.
The station had been on the air a year earlier with test transmissions form Black Mountain in Belfast until raided by Radio Authorities.
