Medical researchers estimate that there are as many as 3000 to 8000 cases of the nodding syndrome in northern Uganda and parts of South Sudan. But very little is known about the cause of the syndrome that has brought immense suffering to its victims in northern Uganda. In this weeks Health Focus, Florence Naluyimba looks at the previous research carried out by scientists.
