The AGITO Trax, AGITO Tower and Shotover G1 Gimbal were the perfect trio to achieve stunning tracking shots for the Phillips 66 National Championship Series. A camera angle that was traditionally achieved with a manual push dolly now gained SPEED, ELEVATION, ENDURANCE, and most importantly, WIRELESS CONTROL, with our fully-robotic AGITO Trax camera dolly system.
At MTJIBS, our passion is to achieve the camera moves our clients envision. USA Swimming wanted the ability to rely on a long tracking shot that would precisely follow Olympics-bound swimmers on every lap. This shot would not just be used for replays…it would be a critical angle for the live coverage of the meet.
We provided three camera movement pieces that, when combined, we knew would accomplish the angles this event needed:
1. The AGITO TRAX system has the ability to follow the rhythm and speed of every swimming style with speed, accuracy and smoothness.
2. The AGITO Tower sets the lens height to a taller position and also provides remotely operated up/down movement with a booming range of 28”.
3. The SHOTOVER G1 GIMBAL guarantees perfectly stabilized shots on even extreme tight follows.
We also provided 144’ of straight dolly track to glide along the entire length of the Olympic-sized swimming pool, as well as an equally long cable management system for the broadcast’s tethered video and control fiber.
The result was a reliable, unmanned camera setup that was able to follow swimming action all along the pool with stability and precision.
