He teaches that while the Holy Spirit indwells a protected core of the spirit at salvation, other areas may still carry wounds or defilement. Scripture, he says, shows the spirit can be broken, overwhelmed, deceitful, or in need of renewal (Psalm 51:10, 17; Proverbs 18:14).
Duval also connects Jeremiah 1:5 to the idea of pre-earth existence, suggesting that pre-Adamic trauma can affect the human spirit. He maintains that targeted ministry to the spirit brings deep healing and transformation.
