Vintage miele automatic W427 - Minimum iron 50C° no pre-wash & miele T366 dryer

Here is another video with one of the best machines in the collection, our beloved miele automatic W427.

This time I washed a single sofa cover on the minimum iron (synthetics) programme without pre-wash at 50C°.

The minimum iron section has a rinse hold when the final rinse is done, then you choose where to set the timer: either long cottons spin, short synthetics/minimum iron spin, short delicate spin or drain only.

I set it to long cottons final spin afterwards (all spins go automatically 900 RPM)

Using ariel powder detergent

& drying in the vintage 80-90s (mid/late 80s early 90s) miele DE LUXE electronic T366 vented tumble dryer, on the quick 15 min. programme at low temp.


This miele W427 runs at single phase 220V, with 3kW heating power. It has 2 different motors which are clutch controlled and also combined in one huge motor using the same shaft - An induction motor for tumbling, which is rated at 200 watts and a brushed motor for spinning which is rated at 900 watts.


Miele de luxe electronic T366 tumble dryer max 3.3kW heating power, which makes it dry extremely fast!!


These machines do need a few things to be perfect. The W427 needs new shock absorbers as it easily walks away unless it's perfectly leveled and gets on a balanced load spin. Currently they are so worn out the tub falls completely down and has no big space to bounce. The motor bearings need some oil too, but again it has 2 motors so 4 bearings do make it sound a bit louder. (2 bearings each motor)



The miele de luxe electronic T366 dryer urgently needs new motor bearings, which is why I use it rarely or only for loads that get balled up since it has reverse tumbling action. Also in quick programmes only because I don't wanna torture it too much (yet it still dries amazingly under a few minutes only) I have it all cleaned up inside but it needs new motor bearings.

The minimum iron programme takes about 1:05h with the synthetics spin, with long cottons spin about 1:15h.
