Ken Fisher: What Does 24/7 Trading Mean for Markets?

Описание: Ken Fisher, founder, Executive Chairman and Co-Chief Investment Officer of Fisher Investments, shares his perspective on how 24/7 stock trading could change things for markets. Ken isn’t sure the adoption of 24/7 trading, if it were to happen, changes things for markets and investors as much as some think.

According to Ken, as a child in the 1950s, markets were open for half days on Saturdays, which created extra work for those in the investment world on Saturdays. While Ken acknowledges round-the-clock trading could bring periods of volatility during less convenient hours, he believes the industry and firms would ultimately adapt to these changes.

Should 24/7 trading occur, Ken says the potential for greater continuity and improved liquidity in the market could make it a positive development, not a negative one.
