The Deep Squat Rotation is a great mobility exercise we use at Good Vibes Physio to improve hip mobility, open up the upper back, and build better control and comfort in the bottom of the squat.
If you feel stiff in your hips or upper back, or you lose position and balance in deep squats, this movement helps restore rotation and control without forcing painful stretches.
We use this exercise in physio and mobility programs to help people:
✅ Improve hip and thoracic spine mobility
✅ Get more comfortable in deep squat positions
✅ Improve squat control and movement quality
✅ Reduce stiffness and movement restrictions
How to do it:
Lower into a deep squat with your heels down and chest tall.
Place one hand on the floor and rotate the other arm up towards the ceiling, following your hand with your eyes.
Return to the start and repeat on the other side.
Slow, controlled rotation. Stay balanced.
