2. How to Use DigiYatra at T1
DigiYatra is a Biometric Enabled Seamless Travel (BEST) experience that uses Facial Recognition Technology (FRT) for a paperless and faster process through the airport checkpoints. It is available for domestic passengers at T1.
Enrolment (One-Time Process):
Download & Register: Get the DigiYatra App and register using your mobile number.
Link ID: Link your identity credentials (ideally via Aadhaar/DigiLocker).
Take Selfie: Upload a clear selfie for facial recognition.
Upload Boarding Pass: For your specific flight, upload your boarding pass (after web check-in) to the app and share it with the Delhi Airport.
At the Airport (T1) Process:
Terminal Entry: Head to the DigiYatra E-Gate at the departure entrance.
Scan & Verify: Scan the QR code of your boarding pass on the app. The camera will then scan your face.
Gate Opens: Once validated by facial recognition, the e-Gate opens, allowing you quick access.
Security & Boarding: You can often use dedicated security check lanes and the process is repeated seamlessly at the boarding gate.
3. How to Use Self-Service Bag Drop (SSBD)
T1 features the Self-Service Bag Drop (SSBD) facility, often including the Quick Drop Solution, which significantly reduces the baggage check-in time.
Procedure for Self Baggage Drop:
Check-in & Tag: Use a Common Use Self-Service (CUSS) Kiosk at the terminal to print your boarding pass and your baggage tags.
Tag Your Bag: Securely attach the printed tag to your check-in luggage.
Proceed to SSBD: Take your tagged bag to the Self-Service Bag Drop conveyor belt.
Scan/Process:
Place the bag on the conveyor belt.
The system may automatically launch your airline's application on the machine.
You will be prompted to confirm a self-declaration that your bag does not contain any restricted items (usually a one-click confirmation).
Automated Drop: The system scans, verifies, and accepts your bag, which is then automatically processed and sent to the sorting area.
The Quick Drop Solution can process bags in as little as 30 seconds, saving a significant amount of time compared to traditional check-in counters.
