Strategic Analysis Australia Director Peter Jennings says there is a “deepening relationship” between Indonesia and Russia.
“In January this year Indonesia joined the BRICS … mostly led by Russia, looking for more economic opportunity,” Mr Jennings told Sky News host Chris Kenny.
“Indonesia wants Russian oil and Russia wants Indonesian commodities.
“So there is a relationship which is deepening very quickly and it has a strong military dimension to it which has been around for years but is getting more intense.”
