Compared to Snap-on who offered a lifetime warranty, Bonney only agreed to replace or repair any tools if they were found to have a manufacturing defect.
If a tool was found to be used for a purpose other than what they were intended for, or even if they showed signs of normal wear, the warranty would be voided and a free repair or replacement would not be granted.
We know just how successful Snap-on and Craftsman's lifetime warranties made them. So regardless of a tool's quality, when customers had to make the decision about which brand of tool to buy, going with the one with the best warranty was the easy choice for most people.
