Hi beloveds ♡ Welcome to our travel series: “Hii There World” where The Hii sisters travel, share stories and meet people around the world!
When people ask "where are you from?" it's a little tricky to answer because we've moved around a lot. However, Sibu runs in our blood. To others, it's a quaint town in East Malaysia with foochow delicacies, historical shop houses, and Malaysia's largest indoor market. To us, Sibu is a familiar home and rich in culture, childhood laughter, and life values. It's ironic I say that because whilst making this video, I just learnt that Sibu is apparently a gangster city??? Makes sense why our town centre's Swan Statue necklace was stolen...
Fun fact: The city of Sibu of Malaysia is called "New Fuzhou (Foochow)" due to a significant wave of China, Fuzhounese immigration in the early 1900s.
