Vocal workshop : Missa ad Transfigurationem Sancti Jacobi, composed by Marcel Pérès
July 18th to 25th 2019

Marcel Pérès offers another special session devoted to the performance of his latest composition, which is based on two works dedicated to St.James :
the Codex Calixtinus, and the Missa Sancti Jacobi of Guillaume Dufay.
La Missa ad Transfigurationem Sancti Jacobi, by Marcel Pérès,
is a paraphrase of the Mass for St.James by Fulbert de Chartes, and of the Missa Sancti Jacoby by Dufay. The themes and compositional procedures that Dufay used are here developed and amplified, and vibrate with the harmonic and polyphonic discoveries of the last five hundred years.
The work was conceived for various performers -children, amateur choirs, and professional singers.
At the end of the workshop, participants will sing in the closing concert.
