Описание: A few ways to test the authenticity of silver using magnets. First of all silver isn't ferromagnetic so it shouldn't stick to a magnet. Silver creates very strong eddy currents, hence it should slide down slowly on a neodymium magnet, or the other way around, a magnet should slide slowly on silver. Lastly silver is paramagnetic which means it is ever so slightly attracted by a magnet. When testing this, it's best to use a stationary magnet. There are other metals that have these same attributes so when in doubt, it is also a good idea to measure and calculate the specimen's volume and then see if the weight matches. A cubic centimeter of silver should weigh 10.49 g.
