Petra is one of the world’s most incredible ancient sites, but there are a few things that would have made our visit even better!
3 essential Petra tips:
⏰ Arrive at 6AM opening time - you’ll avoid crowds AND the intense heat that makes exploring much harder later in the day
💰 The famous Treasury viewpoint is accessible for just 10 JOD ($14) per person in 10 minutes! We hiked the entire Al-Kubtha Trail (which was beautiful but took 3 hours round trip)
🗺️ Petra is MASSIVE - most visitors just see the Treasury and leave, but the Monastery, High Place of Sacrifice, and Royal Tombs are all incredible. Consider a multi-day pass if you want to see it all!
