For over 35 years SCT Operations has been using the ANZI Strain Cell and the overcoring technique to determine the 3D in situ stress in rock.
SCT's 3D stress measurement and analysis process characterises the 3-dimensional in situ stress environment in rock with high confidence measurements. Ideally made during the exploration and design stage, long before any underground excavations have started, the data acquired allows underground operations to be designed for safer, more effective and more reliable operations.
The overcoring technique can be conducted from surface to depths of 1200 metres in vertical or sub vertical HQ boreholes and provides critical information for the design of such things as mines, tunnels, hydropower plants, and nuclear waste storage facilities.
SCT have conducted stress measurement in rock around the world including Canada, USA, Sweden, Philippines, Ecuador, Colombia, PNG, Mongolia, and Brazil.
