Today, we had the honor and privilege of welcoming our Overseer, Pastor Philip Pimlott, as he led us into Week 2 of our Relationship Series.
The message, “Communication That Heals,” emphasized the power of words and the unique ways men and women communicate. Pastor Philip unpacked the dynamics between male and female communication and shared practical wisdom on how we can improve our communication for the benefit of our relationships.
We were also reminded that communication is a gift from God, meant to be used to build, encourage, and uplift one another in love.

Teaching Points | Communication That Heals
Communication is the essential element of every great relationship.
God has a standard for how we speak.
Danger #1: Not Understanding the Power of Words
Our words are NUCLEAR. God’s plan is for our mouths to bring life to ourselves and others.
Truths About Words:
1- Words Don’t Evaporate
Spoken words are recorded in heaven and lodge in people’s hearts.
2- Words Reveal the Heart
You know your heart by listening to your mouth.
Your words are telling on you.
3- Words Without Action
Words are part of the equation, but they cannot replace obedience.
4- Words Are Not Powerless
5- Bad Words Can Produce Results
But results without God’s way always come at a cost.
Danger #2: Men and Women Communicate Differently
Women often have a need to talk — not wrong, just different.
It’s okay for someone to have a need you don’t have.
Core Needs:
A woman needs LOVE
A man needs RESPECT
How We Hear:
Women hear through security and love
Men hear through honor and respect
The way you say it is often more important than what you say.
Healthy Communication Keys
A) Caring
Speak with genuine concern.
B) Praise
Praise is a discipline that keeps us focused on what’s right.
You can address hard things positively when praise leads.
C) Truth
Truth without mercy is mean
Mercy without truth is meaningless
D) Faith
Trust that if what you’re saying is right, God will enforce it.
E) Surrender
God can use your mouth more than any other part of your body to bring change and healing.
