A spate of incidents targeting Indians, Indian Americans and places of religious worship in United States have caused concern to the Indian diaspora in US.
Just days after 57 year old Sureshbhai Patel was paralysed after a brutal attack by the police in Alabama, another Indian, who was living in U.S., was shot dead in New Jersey on Sunday.
28-year-old Indian-American businessman Amit Patel was gunned down by an unidentified assailant in his family-owned liquor shop..
Police investigation is underway and the CCTV footage is being examined for leads.
However, no arrests have been made so far. Amit hailed from a small village in Khera district of Gujarat.
In another incident that has shocked the Indian community in United States, a Hindu temple was vandalised with hate message and swastika spray-painted on its wall in Washington.
The temple is one of the largest Hindu temples in the entire North West America. Of late incidents of vandalism of Hindu temples and gurudwaras have been on the rise in the United States.
