This is one of my favourite Afrikaans traditional songs. Underneath the simple melody and words lie a deep sadness and a resignation to the realities of life.
THE LETTER:
Hello baby,
How are you?
Miss you so much…
When are you coming home? It’s very quiet without you here!
Not much fun to play chess against myself :)
Looking forward to seeing you!
Lots of love,
Dad
