Karen In Our Dreams - Remembering Karen Carpenter (A Tribute)

Описание: I originally posted this fifteen years ago to commemorate the 26th anniversary of Karen's passing. We had her for barely more than 13 years. And now (February 4, 2024), it has been 41 years since we lost her. How is that possible?

She was making the effort to overcome her anorexia, was just beginning to discover herself, was making the transition from kid sister to independent woman - when fate intervened. And now, like so many other stars who died before their time, stars like Marilyn, Elvis, James Dean, Janis, Jim Morrison, Karen is stuck in a land where she's forever young.

"When I was young, I listened to the radio..." and I'm still listening, waiting for my favorite songs... "looking back on how it was in years gone by...so much has changed..." I feel sometimes, that I lost a part of myself that morning 29 years ago, and I'll never get it back...

Rest in peace, Karen. Thank you for the music. We still love you and miss you as much now as we did that first day.

The song is "The Legend of the Pianist," a track from the soundtrack album of "The Legend of 1900." I originally had planned to use a different track, but when I heard this one, I realized it would work better for what I wanted to do in this tribute.
