On 15 November 2025, thousands gathered in Freedom Square in Torit, Eastern Equatoria State, to celebrate South Sudan’s rich cultural heritage. Supported by UNESCO and WPDI, the festival brought together diverse communities to share dances, food, and traditions, highlighting culture as a unifying force for dialogue, peace, and social cohesion. Participants expressed hope that such events continue to strengthen understanding and belonging across the state.
